My name is Nupur Bose and I have been working as the Management Accountant at Blue Zoo for the past year and a half. Before joining Blue Zoo I had a background in Audit, where I qualified as an ACA Chartered Accountant. This is my first role in industry, more specifically in Media, and it is quite the contrast to working in an accountancy practice!

I communicate with clients, suppliers, directors, heads of departments, productions managers and H.R. on a regular basis. For me, the people and the office environment really make my role enjoyable. Everyone is friendly and approachable and there is always something fun happening in the office like smoothie mornings, live drawing classes and chair massages, to name a few!

As the company grows, my role allows me to develop a broad spectrum of skills. Just recently for example we entered into a large USD production contract and I was able to learn how to book forward options with HSBC to fix our exchange rates.

My day to day role is always varied and this is something which I love. From preparing monthly management accounts for the directors, to implementing new policies and procedures, putting together cash flow forecasts and budgets, processing payroll, being the first point of contact for the external auditors and applying for the animation tax credits; no two days are the same.
